Fresh from his eventful exhibition match against South Korean martial artist DK Yoo over the past weekend, Filipino boxing legend and former senator Manny Pacquiao has signed a partnership with Japan-based non-fungible token (NFT) company Systems Technologies Apps Robotics Trading (START) Inc.
Upon the formal contract signing ceremony held on December 13, 2022 at the EDSA Shangri-La Manila in Mandaluyong City, Pacquiao has been appointed as Ambassador and Honorary Chairman of START Inc. and another partner NFT One. He immediately flew back to Manila from South Korea for this event.
START Inc. and NFT One are primarily creating and marketing NFTs. They have recently created a buzz in the Japanese NFT community following the launch of their top-selling one-of-a-kind collections.
Under the leadership of founder and CEO Kousei, START Inc has conceptualized its goal of establishing an online community that not only serves as a viable platform for NFT trade, but also as a more all-encompassing network comprised of reputable and predominantly Asian NFT-centric influencers from across the world.
The resulting community, STARTJPN, launched its first NFT collection in November. The maiden launch of its NEO STACKEY collection sold all 1,650 units just within seconds in the OpenSea market, reaching the Top 2 of trending collections globally in an instant. Within hours, the collection noted an exponential increase in value.
Leveraging on that promising start, STARTJPN is set to replicate that success with the launch of its ensuing collections—STARTJPN ALL-STARS, JAPAN Dream Collection, CRYPTO NINJA X STARTJPN, and Tokyo Alterative Girls.
At the same time, START anticipates a stronger foothold in the NFT market with its partnership with Singapore-based NFT One, owned by CEO Yuhua Shi. The addition of Pacquiao into the equation is aimed at adding prestige to the partnership.
Pacquiao has earned his legacy as among the sports world’s most bankable brand ambassadors—with the help of his diehard fans and followers numbering in the millions. He has even gained a cult following in Japan where he is regarded with rock-star status.
As part of its core advocacies, START Inc. also plans to build schools and other learning institutions and encourages a new generation of NFT creators and engineers who pursue their own paths and help create new breakthroughs in the local NFT industry.
Beyond its mission-vision of becoming the dominant player in the global NFT market, START also hopes to engage in more noble and worthy advocacies that aptly reflect the core philosophy of its motto, “Towards a brighter future.”
