Bank customers of the Metropolitan Bank & Trust Co (Metrobank) are never getting left behind as the giant banking network announces the implementation of Zero transaction fees for Metrobank App and Metrobank Online inter-bank transfers via InstaPay and PESONet.
“Whether it’s your usual transactions via InstaPay, or you’re sending bigger amounts via PESONet, all transfers are now free. With InstaPay, you can send up to ₱50,000 per transaction and up to ₱100,000 daily. For larger transfers, PESONet lets you send up to ₱200,000 per day,” Metrobank said in a statement.
InstaPay is a frequently used electronic fund transfer (EFT) service that allows bank customers of a Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP)-supervised financial institution (BSFI) to transfer funds in pesos from their account to another BSFI account. PESONet works the same but has a much higher transfer limit per day to other bank accounts that are using the PESONet service.
Metrobank customers used to pay ₱10 to ₱15 for each InstaPay transfer transaction and P50 per PESONet transfer. Online and in-app fund transfer to Metrobank from some local banks are now also enjoying zero transaction fees.
