After three months, restaurants and fast-food chains are finally allowed to once again accept dine-in orders beginning June 15, 2020. However, personnel and customers are required to observe the new normal inside restaurant premises—to ensure there is physical distancing and mandated health/safety protocols.
In Metro Manila and other cities/provinces under General Community Quarantine (GCQ) due to the Covid-19 pandemic, dine-in operations are restricted to just 30% of dining capacity until the authorities give the green light to gradually increase that.
This means only a limited number of diners are allowed inside restaurants at a time. Special markings are printed on floors and fixtures to give directions. Tables and chairs are also arranged to facilitate physical distancing at all times. Most restaurants and fast-food chains have installed acrylic or plastic dividers between diners to ensure distancing. Everyone is also required to fill up contact tracing forms, undergo body temperature checks, apply alcohol on hands, and wear face masks at all times upon entering food joint premises. All restaurants have also assigned personnel to ensure all protocols are observed within their premises. There are crew members who constantly apply sanitizers and make sure the surroundings are spic and span at all times.
