The Philippine Quill Awards recognized the communication efforts exerted by Coca-Cola Philippines for its sustainability programs. During the 15th annual ceremony of the award-giving body, the giant beverage company bagged three trophies.
Two merit awards in Philippine Quill Awards’ communication management category was handed to the firm for its 5by20 Sari-sari Store Training and Access to Resources (STAR) Program, an initiative that empowers women in different sectors (in cooperation with TESDA or Technical and Skills Development Authority and DOLE or Department of Labor and Employment).
Coca-Cola Philippines also brought home another merit award, this time in the communication skills category, for its Agos Program publication ‘Replenishing Communities, Replenishing Lives: The Coca-Cola Water Report,’ which communicates the impact of the initiative to the lives of its beneficiaries.
“We at Coca-Cola Philippines are honored to receive these awards that recognize the effectiveness of our sustainability programs in making a difference in the communities we serve and the lives of Filipinos,” said Coca-Cola Philippines Vice President for Public Affairs and Communications Adel Tamano.
The company also expressed its appreciation to its partners that made its sustainable programs successful. Those allies include government and non-government organizations, including bottling partner Coca-Cola FEMSA Philippines and Strategic Works, Inc., which handles public relations of the company.
The 15th Philippine Quill Awards was recently held at the Marriott Grand Ballroom at Newport City. The annual competition, which aims to recognize excellent professional communications practices and programs in the country, is organized by the International Association Communicators (IABC) Philippines.
