There’s a Hollywood star in town. Television and movie sweetheart Drew Barrymore arrived at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport in the morning of March 11 (Sunday).
This visit of the 43-year-old Hollywood actress comes as no surprise as it was announced in the previous week that she will be dropping by for the red carpet premiere of the second season of Netflix original series ‘Santa Clarita Diet,’ where Barrymore plays the role of a property agent who mysteriously develops an odd hunger for human flesh.
Netflix is set to hold the event today, March 12, 7 p.m. at the SM Megamall Fashion Hall Atrium. Actor Timothy Olyphant, who co-stars with Barrymore in the series, will also join the premiere night.
Manila visit
Barrymore’s previous visit to Manila came as a surprise in September 2016. Without any prior announcement, she dropped by to promote her own make-up line called Flower Beauty.
If you have not yet seen Season 1 of the series, you still have the whole day to binge-watch it so you can enjoy the Season 2 premiere, if you are considering going to the event. The first season has 10 episodes, each lasting about 30 minutes. It premiered on Netflix in February 2017.
The second season will be up on the entertainment content streaming service on March 23, 2018 (Friday next week). In the series, Barrymore’s character continues to feed her mysterious hunger, while her family searches for a cure to prevent the virus from uncontrolled spreading. Meanwhile, the residents of Santa Clarita are starting to become suspicious.
