Megan Young instantly became a household name when she brought home the honor of being the first and only Filipina (so far) to win the much-coveted Miss World crown and title in 2013. Her reign as a queen marked in the pageant’s 63-year-old history as she grandiosely delivered her promise to become the ‘best Miss World’ ever.
The 30-year-old beauty queen wears many hats, and she manages to excel in all of those. She is among the bankable TV actresses of GMA Network, the station that discovered her in 2004 through the reality-based artista search StarStruck. She is also an in-demand fashion model and events host.
Now, Megan is taking another role—as the newest addition to the growing list of foodpanda ambassadors in the Philippines. And she is apparently very proud of becoming one—joining her husband Mikael Daez in the roster and being a loyal foodpanda customer herself.
Megan is all raves about foodpanda’s service, citing the convenience it gives her for meals and essentials that are instantly delivered to her residence, especially in the new normal. The on-demand food delivery service has more than 20,000 restaurant-partners nationwide and commits to deliver goods in as fast as 25 minutes or less, at costs that could possibly be lowered by promos of up to 40% discounts.
Moreover, the beauty queen has disclosed that foodpanda also fits perfectly with her other persona—one that is not yet known to many. Megan is a gamer at heart. “I’d like to say that I was a gamer first,” she revealed. “I started gaming when I was pretty young. My parents introduced me to educational games, then, eventually, it developed into a love for recreational games.”
Among the early gaming titles she had been hooked into were Mario Party and Pokemon Snap on her Nintendo N64 in the late 1990s. To date, Megan is into Animal Crossing in her Nintendo Switch. As for her favorite gaming food, she said she likes ordering steak burrito with cheese through foodpanda. “We’d always order it in the middle of a gaming session,” she quipped referring to her gamer-husband who shares her passion for games and foodpanda.

“It’s actually surprising because, at some point in our relationship, we both realized that we’re both into video games and that we’ve actually played these games before we met each other,” Megan said. “I remember when we first heard about Ragnarok coming to mobile, I was like ‘I loved this game in high school!’ and Mikael could not believe it because it was also a game he played back then.”
