Mercato Centrale, the premier and award-winning food business incubator and night-market organizer in the country, has brought its BellySima Food Festival to One Ayala Concourse for a daylong showcase of RCBC‘s newly launched innovative payments solution Tap-to-Phone.
On August 15, BellySima brought 25 of its accredited merchants (all micro-, small-, and medium-sized enterprises of MSMEs) to showcase the convenience and security of cashless transactions coursed through the RCBC Tap-to-Phone payments solution.
Through Tap-to-Phone, merchants are able to instantly accept Visa or Mastercard credit/debit card payments using any NFC-enabled Android smartphone, which turns into a secured point-of-sale (POS) terminal.
During the food fest, customers were amazed at how fast cashless payment transactions are completed. A local or international issued credit card needs to just be tapped into the smartphone to initiate payment, which finishes in just several seconds to a minute. QR codes and electronic receipts are generated after completing a purchase.
RCBC Tap-to-Phone also makes the process easier and more convenient for merchants. For one, the vendors are spared from investing in costly POS terminals to accept cashless/ card payments. Second, they are given access to a dedicated Merchant Portal for accurate and organized monitoring of transaction reports. Funds are credited to the entrepreneur’s bank account in a day.
Mercato Centrale launched BellySima Food Festival in June 2015 as another launch pad for up-and-coming food entrepreneurs who aim to showcase their artisanal food creations alongside organic and healthy food products.
