Metro Manila railway systems shorten operating hours on December 31

LRT-2

All three railway systems operating across Metro Manila are implementing shorter operating hours on the last day of 2017. Passengers who usually prefer taking Light Rail Transit (LRT) Lines 1 and 2 as well as Metro Rail Transit (MRT) Line 3 will have to take note of the earlier shutdown schedules on Sunday, December 31:

LRT-1
4:30 a.m. – First trip from Roosevelt to Baclaran; Baclaran to Roosevelt
7:00 p.m. – Last trip from Roosevelt to Baclaran; Baclaran to Roosevelt

*LRT usually shuts down by 10 p.m. during weekdays and 9:30 p.m. on weekends and holidays.

LRT-2
4:30 a.m. – First trip from Santolan to Recto; Recto to Santolan
7:00 p.m. – Last trip from Santolan to Recto
7:30 p.m. – Last trip from Recto to Santolan
*LRT-2 usually shuts down at 10 p.m. for Santolan to Recto trips and 10:30 p.m. for Recto to Santolan routes.

MRT-3
4:45 a.m. – First trip from North Avenue to Taft Avenue; Taft Avenue to North Avenue
8:26 p.m. – Last trip from North Avenue to Taft Avenue; Taft Avenue to North Avenue

The three railway systems usually implement shortened operating hours during Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve due to low turnout of passengers. Doing so also gives their employees the opportunity to go home earlier to observe traditional celebrations with their families.
