Prepare for an unforgettable experience at the highly anticipated Philippine International Furniture Show (PIFS) and Interior & Design Manila (IDM) from March 6-8, 2025, at the SMX Convention Center in Manila. This extraordinary back-to-back event will showcase the best of Filipino design, providing a platform to celebrate the creativity and craftsmanship that define the country’s furniture and interior design industries.
Themed ‘Philippines: An Archipelago of Design,’ the 2025 edition highlights the nation’s cultural diversity through an exquisite collection of furniture, lighting, and home décor. The theme reflects the intricate interplay between traditional Filipino artistry and contemporary design, offering a rich selection of bespoke pieces that merge beauty with functionality.
Celebrating Filipino talent
As the Philippines continues to rise in the global design scene, this year’s event underscores the importance of local designers, artisans, and furniture makers. The President of the Philippines expressed pride in the nation’s contribution to the global design landscape, recognizing the industry’s unwavering commitment to innovation. “Our homegrown talent fuses form and function in ways that stand out in the global marketplace,” the President stated in a special message for the event.
The PIFS and IDM events aim to position the Philippines as a key player in the international design sector, earning its reputation as the “Milan of Asia.” Visitors can expect to encounter a variety of sustainable, high-quality creations drawn from the islands’ rich natural resources, blending modern aesthetics with traditional Filipino techniques.
A hub for innovation and emerging talents
The event will also shine a spotlight on emerging designers and creators, with remarkable activations like an awe-inspiring art installation by renowned artist Leeroy New and a specially designed pavilion by celebrated architect Anton Mendoza. These captivating exhibits will explore how Filipino designers continue to push boundaries while honoring the cultural heritage of the country.
Seminars, awards, and competitions
PIFS and IDM are not just exhibitions but also a hub of learning and recognition. Attendees can expect insightful seminars, including one hosted by the Italian Chamber of Commerce in the Philippines, offering a deeper understanding of global design trends and techniques. Meanwhile, the MICE Industry Forum will highlight best practices and innovations within the design space.
The event will also honor the nation’s most innovative designers through the Designer Awards, showcasing the best in Filipino creativity. In addition, the MVMT Design Competition—a nod to the groundbreaking work of the Movement 8 collective—will inspire a new wave of designers to rethink the future of Filipino design.
