Sun Life of Canada (Philippines), Inc. has entered into an agreement to provide a group of Filipino mothers easier access to its line of affordable insurance.
Under the deal, which was formally signed on June 30 at the giant insurer’s headquarters in Taguig City, members of Mommy Mundo who are below 65 years old could immediately avail Sun Life’s PA TXT Card, Sun Life’s easy-access card to personal insurance. For an annual premium of just P50, PA TXT Card holders get a P50,000 year-long insurance protection in case of accidental bodily injury.
Every member can own up to two insurance cards, providing a combined coverage of P100,000. Sun Life even came up with a especially designed PA TXT Card for Mommy Mundo members. The card can be activated instantly through SMS.
Established in 2003, Mommy Mundo is a community of moms from across the country with an undisclosed number of registered members to date. According to its website, its membership is open to all moms (including expectant mothers). It also sells a privilege passport card to each of its members, who can enjoy various perks like discounts in specific establishments and marked down/waived access fees to its special events.
For its part, Sun Life has been actively reaching out to various organizations and sectors of the society in an effort to provide insurance to a greater number of Filipinos. This is in line with the company’s RI5E PH program, which advocates bolstering of financial literacy as it aims to insure 5 million Filipinos by 2020.
