Elvis Presley died as a superstar on August 16, 1977 when he was just 42. According to reports, he was found unconscious in his bathroom and was declared dead upon arrival at the Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee.

This year, Google did not roll out a special doodle to pay tribute to the King of Rock and Roll on the 40th anniversary of his death. However, his fans did not forget to show their unrelenting love for the late icon.
On August 16, thousands of followers joined a solemn procession past Presley’s grave in his Graceland mansion in Memphis. This was done simultaneously with a candlelight vigil, which his fans have been doing annually since his death.
But the recent commemoration was not spared from controversy. Fans had to pay a fee of $28.75 just to get in the mansion. This move dismayed many of Presley’s fanatics.

Meanwhile, Presley’s fans still have something to rave about. Spotify has released a special playlist to pay tribute to the late pop icon.
The music streaming service also revealed that Presley’s catalog of songs have been streamed more than a billion times worldwide through the app. In the Philippines alone, his hit Can’t Help Falling in Love has been streamed over 90 million times.
