Are you among BDO’s disgruntled depositors in the past days because of issues in accessing the bank’s online and mobile banking services? The major lender has released an advisory over the weekend to help smoothen remote banking activities amid the extended enhanced community quarantine in Metro Manila, Luzon, and other key cities and provinces in the country.
BDO is encouraging its clients to do online and/or mobile banking transactions during off-peak hours of the day—before 10:00 a.m. in the morning and after 4:00 p.m. in the afternoon. It has asked for understanding as remote transactions usually surge during peak hours daily from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
On Wednesday (April 15, 2020), BDO disclosed that its online systems have been experiencing a surge in logins and transactions, resulting in difficulty in accessing online and mobile banking.
Online, several BDO customers have aired their frustrations and issues—mostly comprising of complaints about locked out accounts (occurring after several unsuccessful log-in attempts or inputting of wrong one-time passwords or OTPs) and delay in online cash transfers (within the bank and inter-bank).
Are you still having problems accessing your BDO accounts online? As your last resort, you may visit any BDO branch nearest you for over-the-counter transactions, ATM tasks (bills payments or bank transfers), or deposit-machine usage. Most BDO branches now operate from morning (between 8:00 a.m. and 9:00 a.m., depending on the branch) until 2:00 p.m., Mondays to Fridays (no weekend branch banking until further notice).
