Panda Express opens third PH restaurant on June 11

The world-famous house of Original Orange Chicken heads south of the metro! Panda Express is opening its third restaurant in the Philippines at the Double Dragon Meridian Park in Pasay City on Friday, June 11, 2021.

“We are thrilled to finally countdown to our opening day and share with our fans in the south, Panda Express’ exceptional American Chinese cuisine,” said Panda Express Marketing Manager Julius Marlon dela Cruz. “Guests living and working around the central business district in the Bay Area have always expressed their cravings for Panda Express. And we heard them. We heard you.”

The largest American Chinese dining concept in the world opened its first Philippine location in December 2019 at SM Megamall. Its second store was formally opened in SM North EDSA in February 2021.

The third store opening is part of the plans for the franchised brand by JBPX Foods, Inc., a joint venture between Jollibee Foods Corporation and Panda Express operator Panda Restaurant Group, Inc. The group aims to open five stores in the initial phase of the partnership.

Panda Express currently has over 2,300 locations around the globe with over 40,000 associates. Aside from the Philippines and its home front in the US, the restaurant brand also has presence in Canada, Japan, South Korea, Russia, UAE, Saudi Arabia, Mexico, Guatemala, Aruba, and El Salvador.

The best-selling Original Orange Chicken is made of crispy chicken wok-tossed in sweet and tangy sauce, as inspired by the hometown flavors of Yangzhou, China where Panda Express co-founder Andrew Cherng came from.

In the Philippines, Panda Express recently introduced two new dishes. The signature pescatarian-friendly Honey Walnut Shrimp is a Cantonese dish inspired by Western cooking made with large and crispy tempura-battered shrimp and lightly coated in a unique honey sauce, topped with glazed walnuts.

The Mongolian Pork, launched in May is a classic American Chinese dish comprising of tender pork shoulder and crisp vegetables that are wok-tossed in savory garlic soy sauce.

“Panda Express is continuously introducing to Filipinos its innovative take on American Chinese cuisine that showcases the ‘Wok Hei’ or ‘breath of the wok’ that creates that signature smoky, umami flavor of the entrées,” said dela Cruz. “The top quality of ingredients, preparation, and cooking all make a difference in the addictive flavors that make our guests fall in love with Panda Expres dishes.”

You can also enjoy any Panda Express dish at home by placing an order through the brand’s Facebook Messenger and through partner food delivery apps like GrabFood and foodpanda (deliveries could be limited within Metro Manila).
