The three-day Philippine Electric Vehicle Virtual Summit (PEVVS) is officially commencing today, September 24, 2020. With the theme, ‘Moving Forward to an Electrified Mobility in the New Normal,’ the first-ever online edition of the annual Philippine Electric Vehicle Summit (PEVS) is focused on electric vehicle adoption and the challenges/ opportunities brought about by the pandemic on both supply and demand side of the local electric vehicle market.
As Tech and Lifestyle Journal reported previously, the summit’s organizer, the Electric Vehicle Association of the Philippines (EVAP) has signed up virtual training and consulting firm Olern for its expertise in eLearning and online event staging.
“This year is very special because we have the most number of government leaders joining our event,” said EVAP President Edmund Araga. Among the participants from the public sector this year are Department of Trade and Industry Secretary Ramon Lopez, Energy Secretary Alfonso Cusi, Transportation Secretary Arthur Tugade, and Senate Energy Committee Chairperson Sherwin Gatchalian.
Leaders of electric vehicle associations from Europe and the U.S. will also be joining their Asian counterparts from South Korea, China, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, and the Philippines in the conversation about the promotion of electric vehicles in the new normal.
The PEVVS brings together stakeholders across the electric vehicle value chain as well as policymakers, regulators, academe, consultants, transport companies, utilities, and end-users to exchange and share their experiences and research results on all aspects of electric vehicles and supporting infrastructure. It provides an online platform to present and discuss the most recent innovations, trends, and concerns as well as practical challenges encountered and solutions adopted in the area of electrified mobility.
This online event is made possible through the support of key partners Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corporation, Nissan Philippines Inc, PMFTV Unsmoke, Department of Transportation, United Nations Development Programme, Department of Energy, and eSakay. EVAP is also celebrating its decade-long partnership with the Manila Electric Company (Meralco).
