Cebu Pacific immediately resolves a minor NAIA runway incident on March 8

Cebu Pacific has disclosed that a flight from Naga City to Manila “had a runway excursion” when it landed on Tuesday morning (March 8) at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 3 at 11:45 a.m.

In an advisory sent to Tech and Lifestyle Journal at around 2 p.m., the country’s No. 1 airline said the aircraft (Flight DG 6112 WNP-MNL) was towed from the runway shortly after 1 p.m. Cebu Pacific released its first advisory about the incident through its FB page at 12:40 p.m.

“All 42 passengers and four crew safely deplaned with no reported injuries. All the affected passengers have been assisted accordingly and have left the airport,” the advisory stated.

The Philippine National Police—Aviation Security Group has confirmed that nobody was hurt during the minor incident. However, several flights were put on hold or diverted to Clark airport due to this incident.

“We are working on normalizing our operations as soon as possible. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience this has caused and we thank you for your kind understanding,” Cebu Pacific said.

Normal operations in the airport resumed in the afternoon.
