JobStreet Philippines will be posting over 24,000 job vacancies from the government sector in the Virtual Career Fair, set from September 20 to 24, 2021. The online job fair is in partnership with the Civil Service Commission, which is celebrating its 121st year.
Those opportunities are coming from more than 160 government agencies—requiring specializations in Security/Armed Forces/Protective Services, Education, General Work (Housekeeper, Driver, Dispatch, Messenger, etc), Clerical/Administrative Support, and Healthcare (Nurse, Medical Support, Assistant), among others.
The top locations for the vacant government jobs are Central Visayas, CALABARZON (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, and Quezon), and MIMAROPA (Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon, and Palawan), Zamboanga, Eastern Visayas, and Cordillera Administrative Region.
“It has always been JobStreet’s advocacy to provide every Filipino with jobs that matter, and it’s an honor that the Civil Service Commission trusted us again to be part of this initiative to help candidates rebuild themselves and find an opportunity to be of service to our nation,” said JobStreet Philippines Country Manager Philip Gioca.
Around 90,000 workers were affected by the recent series of Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ) implementations, according to the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE). Those have either permanently lost jobs or placed under flexible work arrangements.
Because of such uncertainties and abrupt setbacks, many jobseekers now prioritize job security over salary, as indicated by the findings of JobStreet’s Global Talent Survey. It is also not surprising that the government is now considered as among the top employers in the online job portal. Government jobs are now also seen by most as more secure career options at this time.
In September 2020, JobStreet and CSC rolled out their first partnership via their first Online Career Fair, which opened over 10,000 government jobs.
