Power Mac Center introduces optional insurance protection for Apple devices

Power Mac Center has started offering an option for customers to buy an insurance protection for Apple devices that are newly purchased in any of its stores nationwide.

The premium reseller of Apple products in the country has partnered with the Chubb Company’s Insurance Company of North America to create and offer Protect Plus, a unique insurance product that covers damages (beyond coverage of standard warranty) to Apple devices arising from accidents, theft, robbery, or other untoward incidences.

The insurance covers costs of repairing cracked screen, water damage, and other types of impairment that might prevent the device from operating normally.


Protection for device owners
Protect Plus offers protection not just to the device but also to its owner. It provides up to P5,000 of protection as Accidental Medical Expense Benefit (whether inpatient or outpatient treatment) to the device owner who may be injured in every robbery or theft incident.

The insurance even provides Accidental Death Benefit amounting to P100,000, which could be claimed by the customer’s beneficiaries in case a theft or robbery incident results to loss of life of the device owner.

Peace of mind

Protect Plus is offered exclusively to customers who purchase any Apple device at Power Mac Center. The one-time premium is equivalent to 12% of the purchased device’s current retail price. It should be noted that the insurance protection does not in any way extend the standard Apple warranty duration.


Getting claims
An insured customer may call a designated Protect Plus hotline (provided during purchase) or send an email to its customer care department within seven days from the date of incident.

Protect Plus shoulders the Diagnostic Fee and all Repair Costs for accidental damage claims. Participation fee (about 20% of the original purchase price of the device) may be collected for approved claims.
