10 factors that make WOFEX a really big, exciting F&B event

On its 17th year, the World Food Expo (WOFEX) promises to be bigger than ever. Over the years, it has grown from being a simple event when it started to being one of the biggest annual food shows that amaze Filipinos to date.

Get ready to explore and enjoy WOFEX from Wednesday to Saturday (August 2 to August 5, 2017). Trade events management firm PEPTarsus Corp once again stages this gigantic showcase of latest trends and technologies in the food and beverage industry.

Here are 10 factors that make WOFEX a huge and exciting food and beverage event.

1. Two venues

WOFEX has created a history as being the first and only food and beverage show that is simultaneously held in two locations—SMX Convention Center in Mall of Asia and the World Trade Center. The organizers offer free shuttle rides between the two locations. A whole day definitely is not enough to explore and enjoy this big event.

2. Wofex Trade

Annually, WOFEX gathers industry sellers and buyers in World Trade Center. For those who are into the restaurant or food manufacturing business, this is the best place for trade negotiations with suppliers of equipment, packaging, supplies, and food service.

3. WOFEX Marketplace

To be held at SMX, the Marketplace is the biggest selling event for food and beverage categories. This makes WOFEX a venue for order-taking and retail of frozen and processed food as well as import and export products. It is also a marketplace for food service and franchising opportunities.

4. The Philippine Culinary Cup

The country’s most prestigious cooking competition returns. Organized by the Pastry Alliance of the Philippines, LTB Chefs Association Philippines, and PEPTarsus Corp, this contest has set new standards in the Philippines.

5. Taste Expo

This co-located event makes WOFEX a venue for world-class cooking competitions. This year, the organizers have designed the challenges for practicing culinary professionals. This expo aims to highlight culinary skills of local chefs. Of course, big prizes await the winners, who will also earn the recognition as among the most prominent in the field.

6. Bakers’ Fair

This event showcases baked products, equipment, confectionaries, and ingredients through baking demos, which highlight the latest techniques and technology in the baking industry.

7. Foodmach Expo

The latest in manufacturing, packaging, processing, kitchen equipment, handling, and other food service machineries will be showcased in World Trade Center for industrial and commercial applications. The goal of this co-located event is to provide solutions to the requirements of the food and beverage sector.

8. World Food Summit

A series of workshops and seminars await the participants of the World Food Summit, which is designed to be a venue for disseminating industry trends and technologies. The learning sessions focus on restaurants, supermarket, bakery, manufacturing, catering, and other components of the food and beverage industry.

Chef Jackie Ang-Po will be among the culinary experts who will share insights through WOFEX University.

9. WOFEX University

Top caliber chefs will facilitate helpful topics like catering, pastry making, food sanitation, and culinary heirloom recipes. Advanced education sessions are aimed at industry players and members of the culinary academe.

10. The Hotel Show

For the first time, WOFEX is co-locating its event with The Hotel Show Philippines, which will be patterned after The Hotel Show Dubai. It will provide opportunities for professionals in the hospitality industry to do networking, do business, and learn about the newest trends not just in hotel but also in leisure, restaurant, and food service industries. Also to be expected are The Leisure Show and The Hotel Summit.
