The third and upcoming Thor film from Marvel Studios and Walt Disney Company is brewing to have the biggest opening in the history of the film franchise. It is also among the biggest Hollywood flicks of 2017 that are much awaited in Philippine cinemas.
Thus, SM Lifestyle Entertainment, Inc., together with Walt Disney, is further building the excitement prior to the regular local cinema screening of Marvel Studios’ Thor: Ragnarok through rolling out an interactive exhibit that has started a tour of various SM malls in the metro.
Interactive exhibit
The exhibit is top-billed by life-size gladiator figures of Thor and the Incredible Hulk (played by Chris Hemsworth and Mark Ruffalo, respectively) replicating a major scene in the movie where the two characters battle each other in a deadly gladiator match. Other iconic displays are also featured along with a showcase of exclusive Disney merchandise of Thor, Hulk, Loki (portrayed in the film by Tom Hiddleston), and Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson).
It also facilitates several interactive activities: a Thor-inspired photo booth serves as a perfect selfie/groufie background and tryouts to the latest Marvel Studio apps like Marvel Future Fight, Marvel Puzzle Quest, Marvel Contest of Champions, and Marvel Avengers Academy.
The Thor: Ragnarok roving exhibit debuted at SM Southmall in Las Piñas on October 7 and will stay there until October 15. Its next stop will be SM East Ortigas in Pasig City from October 17 to 22 and S’Maison in SM Mall of Asia complex in Pasay City on October 24 to 31, 2017.

Thor: Ragnarok is the third Thor movie to be released by Marvel Studios. It will be the first ever offering from the film outfit that features a major female villain in an epic race against time to prevent an imminent destruction of Thor’s home world.
In IMAX, select scenes will be expanded to fill more of the screen and deliver up to 26% more of the image compared to standard theatres. Thor: Ragnarok will be shown in IMAX and SM Cinemas beginning Wednesday, October 25.
